I chuckled because we aren't kosher either. My Mom Grandfather when he was well and brother ~ all travel with books (sometimes multiple) and read whenever they have a second. Many times at the dinner table with their current book ~ many more times than my Grandma cared for ~
At Christmas they got their books to open last because as soon as they opened them we lost them to their various spots to read, lol.

I think that's great!
I am so lucky that I was "naughty" when I was growing up because when I was sent to my room that's exactly what I did! I love to read to this day and thank my lucky stars that I started young. I remember reading all the Nancy Drew books and The Bobbsey Twins, and then I read and collected all the Agatha Christie books. Wow, a trip down memory lane.....
