Re: Movies and TV
I love Band of Brothers- just watched some this weekend. It is one of the best things ever made for television. It is especially poignant now since we live about 30 miles from Toccoa, GA and Currahee Mountain. We have been to the museum there- they moved one of the horse stables the guys boarded in over here and refurbished it and they display all sorts of memorabilia and artifacts. Also, in October, they hold the reunion for the 502nd/101st Airborne, all companies, which includes easy company. We went there and lots of the vets were there. We met Jake McNiece, who wrote a book and was the sgt from the real Dirty Dozen. The book is called The Filthy Thirteen. It was a thrill! Also, we had a tour of the museum from a man who was the first southern soldier to parachute in on d-day- he was a pathfinder and went in 30 min before the actual invasion started. He obviously survived and caome back to give tours etc. It is absolutely awesome! We have even driven up Currahee and let me tell you, it was rough for the SUV! I can't imagine running up and down it! Anyway, just thought I would share. :hrts

Re: Movies and TV
I have heard Band of Brothers is very good, I have never watched. I do like both the dicovery and history channel. Animal rescue I have to avoid, I fall completely apart on that stuff- I can't handle it. Now I can watch a movie and see blood and gore, but watching an animal in pain I can't handle. I even get worked up when they call Rudolf mean names in the cartoon. ET shattered me. Weepy movies, I gotta be careful about them, the last 2 that really got me were Step-Mom and Dead Man Walking... if I am not mistaken I think I also cried for Seabisquit too. Too afrais to watch it again to find out.
I am getting more into TV than I ever have as of late. Neat story Red, sounds like you live in a great area.

Re: Movies and TV
I have seen drive mentioned on a couple boards- thinking I missed another boat (like I feel I did with Heroes). Friend of mine loves Prison Break, but I have never seen it.

I tend to veg in front of the tv when I watch Discovery & History, my two favourite channels. Love the 'how do they make it" shows. Like the Canadian Showcase Channel as it doesn't cut anything & has Trailer Park Boys on, the Great Iconic Canadian Show. You can catch episodes of TPB on the same site as Fr Ted.
