Born to be Wild and still is at 100 years old

Pretty cool if you ask me emoticon

Woman, 100, Rides In Motorcycle Sidecar
Pa. Woman Celebrates 100th Birthday With Ride In Sidecar Of Friend's Motorcycle; `It Was Fun'

(AP) You might say she was born to be wild _ a century ago.

Evelyn Warburton rode to her 100th birthday party Saturday in a motorcycle sidecar. She sported a black leather jacket, a helmet and a pair of sunglasses for the 10-minute ride from her home in Lightstreet to her granddaughter's house in Berwick.

"It was fun today," said Warburton.

Her chauffeur on the green 2000 Harley-Davidson Ultra was George Crawford, a friend who had been offering to take her to church on his motorcycle for several years.

Warburton finally accepted Crawford's offer of a ride to her party. She had actually turned 100 on Thursday.

Crawford said Warburton was nervous at first, but relaxed after he assured her she wouldn't fly out of the sidecar. The duo hit a top speed of 40 mph.

"She's always willing to try new things," said Warburton's daughter, Nancy Hartzel.

How cool is that! wow! My granny was 99 last month, still living on her own and doing great - fewer aches and pains than I have! LOL!! These old birds really could teach us a lesson or 2, my gran had 12 kids in a 2 bed house - her hubby and sons were miners so you can imagine the weekly HANDWASHING she did.....we really have it cushy in comparison.

That's so true ~ I tell Grandma all the time she gets on better than I do and she is mid 90's. 12 kids in a 2 bed house ~ my goodness she should nominated for Sainthood. I love talking with older folks ~ they have such amazing stories. My best to your Granny ~ 99 and still cool that's both amazing and wonderful.

Cool granny! But I don't think I want to live to be that old! Course, ask me again when I'm in my 90s....

I say the exact same thing Val ~ but my Grandma is still very cool at her mid 90's. I don't think I have that longevity in me though, but we shall see. And I might be a bit odd but I think when I get up there if I can't live on my own I actually want to go to a nursing home... one with a bar and folks who play cards.

I saw in the paper the other day a couple in the UK in their 80's they've lived in a Travelodge for 20yrs! It's like a motel type place. They said it's cheaper than a nursing home and they get treated better so they just stayed there! LOL! good idea!

I read that too ~ they have their own suite ( a plaque honoring even), exchange holiday gifts with employees and have traveled a bit. I think it said they at at a local diner. For some I would think it would be a great option.
